I visited the programs of the Lessie Bates Davis Neighborhood House in April of this year. The poor economic situation and challenges faced by the community weighed heavily on mind during my visit, but I was heartened to see the help provided by the good people working at the center and the great benefits that their efforts brought to the community.

The Migrant Head Start Program at Lessie Bates Davis Neighborhood House (East St. Louis, IL) provides a place where children learn and are nurtured. Like the program, the audio is in English and Spanish, with onscreen subtitles.
