Nile on a mule, El Pavon, Matagalpa District, Nicaragua

My second-to-last day of work in Nicaragua, and the car got stuck on a rock in a deep bog of mud.  As we debated what to do, considering pushing it out, a man came by on a mule, and offered to take me the last bit of the journey to the village where I scheduled to visit.  It ended up being only about a mile over the next hill, a rocky, muddy, unstable climb and descent that the care never would have made, even if it had not gotten stuck in the mud.  It was a fun twist and adventure, a nice twist towards the end of the trip.

Nicaragua and Honduras 2011 work finished

3.5 weeks on the road, 510gb of photos and video, 12,000+ photos, many hours of video, 16 days of work, 120+ hours of air and road travel, and I’m done! So good to stand still for a bit. I might ride a bike today.

More photos coming soon.
