Snowy Yosemite

My first time to see Yosemite in the snow.  And how quiet it was – tranquil and virtually free of tourists.  ‘Twas beautiful!

Mono Lake and Buckeye Hotsprings

This was our last camping trip of 2010, back in October.  We went to the eastern Sierras and visited Buckeye Hot-springs, Mono Lake, and camped for a few days. The hot-springs were fed by a spring on the hill above a creek, and hot water dripped down in a hot waterfall, collecting in several simple man-made rock pools below. The water was hot, and when I’d had enough, I would plunge into the freezing river and yelp and shout. It was lots of fun, and we wanted to stay longer.
